Advantages and Disadvantages of Sony Xperia M and Review

Sony Xperia M is a Android smartphone with very good specification in a very attractive price tag. the device is powered by 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Dual Core Processor with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. The price of Sony Xperia M in India is ₹12,990.
Sony Xperia M sports 4 inch TFT capacitive touch screen with a screen resolution of FWVGA 480×854 pixels and a pixel density of 245 ppi.  The screen supports 4 finger multi touch and has scratch resistant glass to protect the screen from minor scratches. The internal storage of the device is 4GB and memory can be extended through microSD card upto 32GB.

For connectivity, Sony Xperia M supports 2G, 3G, WiFi, USB, NFC, Bluetooth and USB. The standard features such as USB tethering and WiFi tethering features also available on this device. That means, you can use Sony Xperia M as a modem to connect to internet from PC or other devices via USB cable or via WiFi.
Sony Xperia M has 5 Mega pixel rear primary camera with LED flash which can record 720p HD videos at 30fps. The device also has VGA front facing camera for video calling.  The key features of the camera includes Geo-tagging, touch focus, image stabilization, HDR, panorama.
Sony Xperia M houses Li-ion 1750 mAh battery which rated to provide a talktime of upto 10 hours and a standby time of 552 hours. In real life, it will sustain for a day on normal usage. If the device is used for gaming, then the device needs to be charged twice a day.  The dual sim version of Xperia M will be launched in India later. It will compete with the likes Samsung Galaxy Core and Nokia Lumia 520 and 620.

Pros of Xperia M:

  • Good build quality
  • Attractive price tag
  • Powerful processor with 1GB RAM which provides a lag free user experience
  • Excellent gaming performance for the price tag
  • Good connectivity features
Cons of Xperia M:
  • The viewing angles are not great
  • Low internal memory. Only 1.8GB user available out of the 4 GB of memory. So many high end games cannot be installed.
  • Camera performance is just average.
