Like it is available on other platforms, WhatsApp is offered for free download for the first year and then $0.99 every year. Recently, the Whatsapp iPhone app received an update that added few new features which includes iCloud chat history backup, restores functionality and sending multiple images at the same time. With iCloud support, now user can save their messages history, directly to iCloud, Apple’s cloud service. Whatsapp also changed the monetization model for the service on iPhone with that update. Recently, Whatsapp is said to reached 300 million worldwide active user base and 20 million active users in India alone. It also launched a push to talk voice messaging in the app on all the mobile OS platforms which include Android, Windows Mobile OS, Series 40 and Symbian, Blackberry and iOS.
