Motorola Moto E 2nd is the popular budget Android smartphone now became more affordable. Motorola has slashed the prices of Moto E Gen 2 by Rs.1000. Post price cut 3G variant of 2nd Gen Moto E is Rs. 5999 and 4G variant of Moto E 2nd Gen is Rs.6999.
Moto E Gen 2 3G variant is powered by Qualcomm’s entry level Snapdragon 200 quad-core chipset clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB RAM. Whereas 4G variant of 2nd Gen Moto E is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB of RAM. Both 3G and 4G variant of this smartphone sports 4.5 inch display with 540×960 pixels resolution. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Moto E 2nd Gen sports 5 mp camera at the back, and a 0.3 mp camera placed in the front. There is 8GB onboard storage and support for microSD card upto 32GB.
Price cut was a necessary for Motorola to face competition from the likes of Lenovo, Xiaomi etc. With arrival of Lenovo K3 Note, Yu Yureka both which feature 5.5 inch full HD display along with 4G support and more powerful SoC available for Rs. 9999. This forced Motorola to reduce prices of Moto E 2nd Gen.

Recently, Xiaomi also done Rs. 2000 price cut on its popular device Redme Note 4G and Redme 2. Redme Note 4G is available for Rs.7999 and Redme 2 is available for Rs.5999.
This price cut on Moto E also means that, there is new smartphone on the way. Motorola scheduled for event on July 28. It is rumored to launch Moto G 3rd Generation and Moto X 3rd generation. The company might also launch Moto 360 at the event.
