Stock android experience with timely updates, triple camera setup, AMOLED display panel, high-capacity 4,030mAh with support for Quick Charge 3.0, stylish design, upto 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage are the some of the key features to name in Mi A3. It has all the ingredient to become a good mid range android smartphone. Does it miss something? Here is the list of Xiaomi Mi A3 cons or features which are not impressive according us.
Mi A3 fixed some of the demerits of Mi A2. For example, 3.5mm headphone jack and support for expandable storage are back which were omitted in Mi A2. However, there are few compromises Xiaomi made to keep the price of Mi A3 attractive.
Mi A3 Cons – Reasons why you may not like it
Here are the demerits of Mi A3 or the features which we didn’t like.
No Full HD Display
Mi A3 comes with a 6.08 inch HD+ AMOLED screen with noth design. It is nice to see AMOLED display panel. However, swapping full HD display panel which we saw on Mi A2 with HD+ panel is not a good idea. The pixel density is 300 pixel per inch. You will see pixelation while reading the text.
One more drawback of Mi A3 display is outdoor legibility. It has adequate brightness but in direct sunlight it is not easy to view the content. Another minor flow is oversaturated colors. Unfortunately there is no option to adjust screens color output.
Lack of dedicated microSD card slot
Unlike Mi A2, Mi A3 has support for microSD card. However, it has hybrid sim card slot. This means. if you want to use microSD card, then you need to compromise on the second sim.
No stabilisation for 4K video recording
Mi A3 has electronic stabilisation for video recording upto 1080p. EIS is pretty good and bitrate is smooth. However, there is no stabilisation for 4K video recording.
Video recording on selfie camera capped at 1080p
32MP selfie camera is one of the key highlight of Mi A3. But video recording on it is restricted to 1080p. Also, stabilisation on selfie camera is not good.
Bundled charger is not a fast charger & Lack of NFC
We appreciate Xiaomi team for providing the support Quick Charge 3.0. But in spite of Mi A3 supports upto 18W fast charging, bundled charger is of 10W. It also lacks NFC.
